Materials: Camera Processes: I took cords and wrapped them around my hands, arms, and body. I got someone to take a picture of me and edited it in Lightroom. Ideas: The cords being wrapped around me and my hands show how social media and our phones trap and imprison us, keeping us isolated from others and lonely.

Materials: iPhone Camera, Lightroom, Paper, X-Acto Knife Processes: I got someone to take a photo of me and tweaked the photo in Lightroom. I put the photo on my phone and took a photo of the phone. I printed out the photo of the phone in different sizes. I cut out the different sizes and arranged them on top of each other. Ideas: This photo represents how our phones trap us in them and how we center our lives around social media. Because of this we, especially people in our generation, stay at home and stop interacting with other people in person, creating loneliness.

Ideas: This photo represents how our phones trap us in them and how we center our lives around social media. Because of this we, especially people in our generation, stay at home and stop interacting with other people in person, creating loneliness.

Materials: Sharpie, Charcoal, Posca Markers Process: First, I wrote down my ideas in pencil. I then added charcoal to give it a more artistic and messy feel. After that I used sharpie and Posca markers to outline and emphasize the writing. Ideas: I started with the idea of loneliness for my Sustained Investigation. I asked why people are lonely in the modern world despite how connected we are. I found that social media and city design produce loneliness. I also realized that feelings of loneliness were exacerbated by the pandemic when people were kept separate from one another.
